Wir als AStA begrüßen es sehr, dass unsere Idee, kostenlose Menstruationsprodukte in der Universität bereitzustellen, im Rektorat, vor allem im Prorektorat für Chancengerechtigkeit und Diversität, auf offene Ohren getroffen ist und wir gemeinsam mit ihnen ein Konzept für eine Pilotphase entwickeln konnten.
Die Vergesellschaftung der Menstruation dient der Gleichstellung der Frauen und menstruierenden Personen im Ganzen an unserer Universität und bringt das Thema Menstruation aus einer Tabu-Zone heraus in der es sich heute in weiten Teilen der Gesellschaft noch befindet. Eine Bereitstellung kostenloser Menstruationsprodukte bekämpft die Periodenarmut - für viele Studierende stellt der Kauf von Menstruationsprodukten eine finanzielle Belastung dar.
💭 Bislang gibt es die Produkte nur auf einigen Frauentoiletten, das Projekt soll aber auf alle universitären Toiletten, unabhängig von geschlechtlicher Zuweisung, ausgeweitet werden. Die Uni bittet außerdem um Feedback, um das Projekt auch zukünftig etablieren zu können. We as AStA are very glad that our idea to provide free menstruation products in the university was met with enthusiasm in the rectorate, especially in the prorectorate for equality and diversity, and that we were able to develop a concept for a pilot phase together.
The socialization of menstruation contributes to the equality of women and menstruating people as a whole at our university and brings the topic of menstruation out of a taboo zone in which it still finds itself in large parts of society. Providing free menstrual products combats period poverty - a financial burden for many students.
💭 So far, the products are only available in some women's toilets, but the project is to be extended to all university toilets, regardless of gender. The university is also asking for feedback so that the project can continue to be established in the future.
